In December 2024, we proudly hosted the inaugural ElectroNet Awards, a major milestone in our commitment to recognising excellence within our company.

Employees were invited to submit nominations across four key categories, each reflecting our foundational principles:

The ElectroNet Awards provide a platform to recognise exceptional contributions, boosting morale and inspiring excellence across the company. By aligning each award category with our core values, the programme reinforces what truly matters to us.

Champion Award

Brian Luo

Champion Award winner – Brian Luo.  Brian, an Engineer from Christchurch, has made a significant impact by creating a graduate working group and organising events like Graduate Presentation Day and Intern Meet-and-Greet. His leadership ensures graduates feel supported and empowered from day one, aligned with our “We Look After Each Other” value.

Smart Outcomes Award

Lavina Leggett & Wayne Hawkins

The winners of the Smart Outcomes Award were the Aurora Maximo Integration Project.  Aligned with our "We Work Smarter" value, this award celebrates innovation, safety, and productivity.

The team has automated manual processes, creating lasting value and demonstrating a strong commitment to continuous improvement. Pictured are Lavina Leggett and Wayne Hawkins accepting the award on behalf of the team, which also included Steve Nickalls, Chris Busson and Callie Dando.

Wade Cosgrove

Right Choices Award

Wade Cosgrove

Wade Cosgrove was named as winner of the Right Choices Award.  

Wade embodies our "We Do the Right Thing" value by enhancing safety and sustainability. 

He created a simulated training environment in the Hokitika yard, giving new trainees a safe introduction to life as a Line Mechanic. His innovative approach has reduced stress and improved safety.

Supreme Award Winners

Matt Gazzard and Johnny Stone

This award recognises individuals or teams who go beyond to deliver exceptional results, in line with our "We Achieve Great Things" value. Over the past 18 months, the team has installed electric vehicle charging stations for Z Energy at 17 locations across New Zealand. Their dedication to providing sustainable, fast-charging solutions and ensuring customer satisfaction has been truly remarkable.

In addition to the Great Achievement Award, the Fast Charger Rollout Team were also named the Supreme Award Winners for their outstanding contribution.
